Seam Sealing

The important seams of LOCUS GEAR's shelters and tarps are double stitched, and the sewing needle and thread have been carefully selected to prevent rain from entering. However, if it rains relatively heavily throughout the night, rainwater may enter through the seam holes. Therefore, you will need to select a seam sealant according to each material and seal the seams yourself.

 It is best to seam seal on a sunny, dry day in a well-ventilated area like a garden or park with the shelter or the tarp set up. Use the brush or spatula included, or your finger to seal the seams.

＜Drying time and Storage＞

It takes several hours to dry, and about 24 hours to completely dry.

Do not store it in the sack until it is completely dry.

 

＜Condensation and Rain leaks＞

Condensation is a phenomenon in which water vapor inside the shelter condenses on the curtain inside the shelter.

When the temperature and humidity inside the shelter rises due to body heat, perspiration, or water vapor diffusion from the ground, the water vapor inside the shelter is cooled by contact with the outside air on the screen and condenses into water droplets.

 

It is said that no shelter can completely prevent this condensation. Some breathable fabrics, which have ventilation and moisture permeability, can suppress the occurrence of condensation to some extent, but they cannot completely prevent it.

The only way to prevent condensation is to improve ventilation to eliminate the difference in temperature and humidity inside and outside the shelter.

When it's raining, it may be difficult to distinguish
