Dyneema® Composite Fabrics (Commonly known as CTF3 a.k.a. Cuben Fiber)

Dyneema® Composite Fabrics (CTF3) which is commonly known as Cuben Fiber  is the extremely thin fabric laminated  Dyneema® fibers with UV resin. Dyneema® is a superstrong polyetheylene fiber that offers maximum strength combined with minimum weight.  It is up to 15 times stronger than quality steel and up to 40% stronger than aramid fibers, both on weight for weight basis. Dyneema® floats on water and is extremely durable and resistant to moisture, UV light and chemicals.

LOCUS GEAR uses the grade of 25.3g/sqm of CTF3 for our products.

Sil-Nylon

The ripstop Nylon fabric which is impregnated with silicone is very light, waterproof and strong against tearing.

The Sil-Nylon we mainly use is produced specially in the selected factory in the original colors, which has also the quality of 3,000mm in hydrostatic head.

eVent

eVent is the fabric which has very special quality of both breathability and waterproofing. Its unique composition allows millions of tiny pores to breathe at their full potential.  Sweat vents directly to the outside of the fabric in one easy step. It is called ”Direct Venting™ Technology”.

On the other hand, most common waterproof  as well as breathable membranes  are not really “breathing”, because they move sweat in two slow steps by a process of diffusion through a Polyurethane layer. Because a Polyurethane absorbs and retains sweat, inside of the fabric becomes wet. then, body heat begins to push that dampness through to the outside of the fabric where it can finally evaporate. Tyvek®

Tyvek® is a non-woven fabric formed by a fully integrated process using continuous and very fine fibers of 100 percent high-density polyethylene that are randomly distributed and nondirectional. Lightweight,

strong, water-resistant and breathable that reduces condensation inside the shelter because Tyvek allows moisture vapour to evaporate but are so small that bulk water and air cannot penetrate.

There is a pattern in the surface of the Tyvek in which the many fibers are randomly overlapped that gives a special flavour to the shelter with lighting inside.

Locus Gear uses soft typed Tyvek with UV processing.
